James' interest in aviation began during 2012, when unbeknown to him at the time, the Vulcan Bomber was going to perform a flypast at a photoshoot near Didcot that he was at. The flypast included the famous Vulcan 'howl', and it was that wonderful roar from XH558's Olympus engines that made him start visiting air shows across the South of England, mainly to see the Vulcan.

For various reasons, he didn't get to see the 'Tin Triangle' until August 2015, one of only two times James pointed a stills camera at the Vulcan while in flight (the other being on the Vulcan's Farewell to Flight tour of Southern England in October 2015).

Before he got his photographs of the Vulcan, James photographed a wide variety of other planes that were displaying at the many air shows he's attended, as well as historic planes that are forever grounded.

The Aviation Collection showcases some of the finest planes to have ever flown above our heads, from planes that helped to win World Wars to award-winning display teams that travel up and down the country to the delight of their adoring public and supersonic icons. There really is something for everyone!
